5015 - Ceramic Coated Exhaust Header

Ceramic Coating for Buell Headers. High Luster Silver is the default color, Satin Black is available for an additional charge. Coated inside and out. Does not blue or corrode, improves exhaust scavenging by retaining heat in the exhaust gasses until the pipe exit. We have measured a 175 degree F reduction in the surface temperature of the header near the port (for silver, black is not as effective at insulating the header) Send us your pipe if you want us to coat yours. Additional fees may apply if your pipe already has a coating on it that needs to be stripped. We may have one already coated, ready to send, for a core charge, refundable when your structurally perfect pipe is returned to us. Bluing/discoloration is fine, dents, gouges, excessive corrosion, already coated, or previously header-wrapped pipes with lots of corrosion are not core worthy. Core worthiness is subject to our approval, non-structurally perfect pipes will be returned and core charge not refunded. Please talk to us if any doubt about your core PRIOR to ordering.

Note: You must order both the 5015 and one of the core options if you want us to send a coated pipe to you prior to receiving your header core for refund.

Note: You might want to get new retaining rings (see #5932), re-using the old ones can be problematic if they twist when you remove them, which is common. New Port gaskets (#5931) are a good idea. Also, if you're using the stock muffler on an XB, re-using the front band clamp can be dangerous, we suggest replacing that, (see #17186).
