17160, 17147 - 96-10 Front Brake Switch

96-10 Front Brake Switch. Failure of this switch is common, it's the first thing to check when your Brake light isn't working. Buell has used two different switches over the years. They're identical in function, but have different terminal spacing and a different mounting footprint. 96-99 Tubers and 04+XB series use the narrow terminal less expensive switch (17160, bottom picture). The 00-02 Tubers and 03 XB use the more expensive wide terminal (17147, top picture). The 08 XB and 1125R have gone back to the 17147 wide terminal switch. But check your switch and compare it to the picture prior to ordering.
